Over the past two decades, the world lost more than 76M hectares of primary forest and is now facing alarming nature imbalance and biodiversity collapse.
As an answer to this predicament, our founders started Forest Carbon in 2010 to restore and protect critical ecosystems, building an expert team and developing groundbreaking innovations to achieve these goals.
Indonesia, a country with 120 million hectares of forest estate and high rates of deforestation, became the place where our story began.
We started to turn degraded, burnt lands back into thriving ecosystems.
And we made it our mission to preserve remaining forests by removing the threats that would destroy them.
Our flagship restoration model in South Sumatra that launched in 2016 brought back 40% canopy cover in our project area within just 8 years.
We are now expanding our impact by creatively funding and replicating this success across Indonesia and beyond.
